Studio Mode

Professional recordings with local editing in Thread

Studio Mode is Thread's local-first recording workflow. It saves your recording to disk before you edit, polish, and upload it.

How Studio Mode works

  1. Record locally on your machine.
  2. Open the Thread editor.
  3. Trim, adjust layout, and refine the recording.
  4. Upload and share when you are ready.

Studio Mode is the right choice when quality and control matter more than speed.

Best use cases

  • product demos
  • tutorials
  • polished internal updates
  • presentations that need trimming or visual cleanup

Editing tools

Studio Mode supports:

  • trimming
  • background customization
  • padding and rounded corners
  • zoom effects
  • camera overlay repositioning
  • local export

Sharing

When you finish editing:

  1. Click Share or Export.
  2. Thread processes the final video.
  3. The recording is uploaded to your Thread instance.
  4. A shareable link is generated.

If you need a fast recording with no editing step, use Instant Mode instead.
